Just to clarify: Twaddle has always used OAuth. But the new version will use XAuth to initially authorise the user (which gets rid of the stupid browser portion of the authorisation process).

Both of these features are part of the 0.3 release which I’m hoping to have released *very* soon now.

Where can be this version downloaded from? I’ve found only 0.2.004 (or something like that), which doesn’t have oauth/xauth implemented yet nor twitpic integration.

If you look under the Logs\ directory of the Twaddle directory there will be a bunch of files containing information. If you’re able to send those files to support@twaddle.mobi there might be some clues into your problem.

Does refreshing manually work? There’s a possibility that with a setting of one minute intervals you’re making too many calls to the Twitter servers (especially if you’ve got a desktop client running as well). Twaddle only performs 2 background tasks at once – with a setting of one minute refresh intervals and ~6 background tasks being refreshed every minute, it could be that your phone can’t process them fast enough before the next minute gets added to the queue of tasks. The “Friends” task in particular can take a long time if you have many friends. I’d avoid using one minute as your device is very unlikely to be allowed to fall into the sleep state so you’ll really eat through your battery. A setting of 5 minutes is probably more realistic and less likely to run into either of these problems.

Hey, I’d like to run this app on my windows mobile touch screen phone but the settings for the “refresh” are not working. Any simple fix? I put them all at 1 minute but getting no automatic updates whatsoever.

What sort of phone do you have? It’s possible your phone does vibrate differently compared to others.

I have vibrate checked for all in settings and I don’t believe it’s been vibrating. I usually have my phone docked on my desk so its hard to tell but I tested a self tweet from my other Twitter account and the notification (which is awesome and way better than others, by the way) popped up but no vibrate.

Start – Settings – Sounds & Notifications has an “Notifications” checkbox, but I can’t see a corresponding sound for general notifications on the Notifications tab, so I could be wrong.

Within Twaddle if you go to Settings (The S on the far right) and then Notifications there are options for Pop Ups and Vibration for each of the public timeline, direct messages and mentions. Does ticking those cause your phone to vibrate?

Will definitely work on audio notifications for a future release though.
