Today the 1000th person authorised Twaddle to communicate with the Twitter.com servers on their behalf. To coincide with this great milestone I’ve decided to release Twaddle 0.1.4. This is a minor release (and hopefully the last in the 0.1 line before I release 0.2) which includes the following features;
- Fixed problems sending Tweets with non-ASCII characters
- Fixed uninstall issues
- Fixed resending tweets
- Handle Twitter.com failures better
You can obtain this version in multiple ways;
- AppToDate users can check for updates through AppToDate and automatically install the newest version that way.
- By visiting http://get.twaddle.mobi on your Pocket PC’s browser
- Pocket PC installation – Run this file from your phone
- Desktop installation – Run this file from your Desktop. Twaddle will be installed next time you sync with that PC
Finally, if you have Microsoft Tag Reader (visit gettag.mobi on your phone’s browser) installed on your phone you can scan the tag below.

well, done!.. gonna test this version out! thanks
No new app icon? :-(
Not yet – a few people have provided me with a new icon but I’m yet to select one. Also, I didn’t really think about it (whoops!). 0.2 should feature graphics by someone with talent, as opposed to me :)
Let me know how you find it. If you have any problems or feedback you can contact me via support AT twaddle DOT mobi (or @TwaddleWM)
Still can’t send messages with diacritics – ě,š,č,ř,ž,ý,á – error. But great app, thanks and lookin forward to fix that.
will we see multi account login?
Yeah – Someone else reported that last night. Looking into it. My test cases were using the non-ASCII characters available in the WM6.1 Emulator’s software input keyboard.
I’ve just noticed that my actual phone’s SIP is different and does allow diacritics to be entered. So I’ll run some tests with that when I get home from work this evening.
At this stage multiple account support is not a planned feature. It might be something I work on down the track, but we’d be talking 0.4 or some such. Rather a long way off.
