200 Users!

Earlier today Twaddle Twaddle ticked over to 200 users. Not too shabby at all. Considering that I’ve had some things going on in my personal life that have prevented me from working on, or evangelising, Twaddle as much as I’d like.

In the same spirit as the 100 user milestone I present a screenshot previewing 0.2.

0.2 Preview – Received Direct Messages

As I anticipated in the previous post I’ve moved the icon bar to the bottom of the application. I find this is much more finger friendly as you can navigate without obscuring the screen. Additionally you can see the list of Direct Messages my test account has received (as well as the icon of the sender and your icon as an overlay).

Someone commented in my previous post about the icons used in Twaddle: Yes, they suck. I’m not developer not an artist. If anyone is interested in providing icons / colour advice, please get in contact with me. I’d love to hear from you.

I like the app, I want something basic because I don’t usually tweet but I do follow plenty to read.

Only concern is when and if you will be able to click on links and photo links with twaddle. This will make this program at par with the others.

I like the new look, can’t wait for that upgrade to hit

You can’t click directly on links as I think that would be too fiddly for a lot of users. But if you tap-and-hold on an item with links and wait for the context menu to popup you can chose to view the link in your default browser or copy the URL to your clipboard.

The context menu also allows you to copy entire tweets and view GPS coordinates in Google Maps.

is there any way to cut down the loading on the “friends” section? due to the large list of friends i have. maybe by limiting or by pages?

  5. MrMDavidson says:

Clearly you need less friends :)

I’ll look into breaking downloading of friends information up into smaller (read: more manageable) blocks.
